MPI-ESM-XR spin0001-ST experiment description¶

Experiment spin0001-ST is based on MPI-ESM-XR model (ECHAM6 T255L95, MPIOM TP6ML40, no BGC) with default values of ECHAM6 tuning parameters for T255L95 resolution:

• Cloud parameters:
  • cmfctop = 0.16
  • cprcon = 1.2e-4
  • zinhoml1 = zinhoml2 = 0.77

• Horizontal diffusion:
  • dampth = 0.5
  • ihq(1:10) = 1
    ihq(11:25) = 2
    ihq(26:95) = 3
  • dift = 0.4 * difvo

• Orographic gravity wave drag parameters (Lott, 1999)
  • gkdrag = 0.25
  • gkwake = 0.25

• Hines gravity wave parametrization
  • lrmscon_lat = .false.
  • rmscon = 1.0
